School is not rained out

When putting together our school schedule, I determined to send the kids outside to play regardless of weather (unless the tornado sirens are sounding). Today was the first real test, as the rain was coming down steadily when Outside Playtime rolled around. I got the kids all suited up — they insisted on covering all of their skin to avoid getting wet — and sent them out. Even after I encouraged them to stomp in puddles, they stayed in the garage for the first hour. I started wondering what action I would have to take to avoid rearing prissy kids. Next thing I knew, the kids looked like this:

Finally playing in the rain and loving it

But where did that mysterious 7th boot come from…what does it mean?

They are so cute :) Tell Marianne I like her butterfly shirt.

Can I add an unprejudiced “how cute”?

It’s weird how you get all excited to reply to a cute situation, but then go brain-dead. That’s me right now. But everything doesn’t have to be clever, so says Grandmother Patricia. Anyway, give those 3 rug-rats a hug for me. I’ll try to think of something to teach them when I get back that Mom and Dad don’t want them to know, like spitting was taught to Wilson.
