Passing the Time in Columbia, Maryland

Kids

Our family of five has made our home in hotels the last couple of weeks while Nick is getting work done here in Maryland. While we were hurriedly packing for this spontaneous trip, a thought kept fluttering in and out of my mind: How will we pass all this time together in close quarters? Here is the breakdown of our waking hours so far:

Laboring to get the children to sleep: 12%

Striving to maintain a daily rest time: 10%

Schoolwork: 8%

Playing with new Legos from Legoland: 30%

Training in good sportsmanship:  3%

Playing with new best friends*: 25%

*The Skiles, with their four children, have blessed us with their generous hospitality and invited us over nearly every day!

(Did you know that seven children on hardwood are louder than thunder?)

Doing crafts (yes, crafts!):  7%

Counting baby Gabe’s toes:  5%
